Technical snowmaking - a key factor for the success of major events
As an “official partner”, Demaclenko ensures that the snow is just right for the FIS World Cup races at Plan de Corones.
Every year, countless skiers from near and far attempt breakneck descents on the various World Cup slopes, crowning the season every two years by taking part in the FIS alpine ski World Championship. To ensure that these events take place successfully and safely every year, extensive measures are taken behind the scenes for months in advance to ensure perfect conditions for the race days. Demaclenko very often plays a key role and for years now has been responsible for perfect snow conditions at numerous World Cup races and World Championships in all sorts of different disciplines.
This year, the company is active on multiple World Cup slopes and provides the perfect surface at various events as an “official partner”. The decisive factor - among many very different components - in ensuring that events run perfectly smoothly is, above all, the availability of the most up-to-date snowmaking systems, which allow the organizers to have the snow they need well in advance.
The organizers of the FIS World Cup race at Plan de Corones are relying on Demaclenko as the official snowmaking partner again this year. The latest installation increases the reliability of the snow conditions even more, guaranteeing regular hosting of FIS World Cup races.
Last year Demaclenko delivered the snowmaking equipment to Kronplatz Seilbahn AG for complete redevelopment of the Hinterberg slope, including snow guns, concrete shafts and cast iron pipes and ensured efficient snowmaking for the World Cup slope in St. Vigil with over 15 Titan snow guns. This year’s focus was clearly on expanding the snow guns at the Olang Seilbahnen and in St. Vigil, which are integrated in the latest generation of the Snowvisual 4.0 control software. The highlight of the upcoming season is surely the new Ventus 4.0, developed in cooperation with the famous Italian design studio Pininfarina. Ventus 4.0 is the result of intensive studies on shape and performance, which resulted in radical changes. Best-in-class performance, like snow production of up to 90 m³/h and a consumption of 90 kW, make the product the absolute must-have for this winter.
Accordingly, Demaclenko is looking forward to an exciting race and wishes the local race organizers a successful event with the snow of the future.
