DEMACLENKO: Open Day in the snow

On 17 September 2021, DEMACLENKO invited visitors to an Open Day in its new headquarters in Vipiteno. In addition to exciting insights into the everyday operations and the world of technical snowmaking, a very special surprise also awaited the visitors: Snow in September.

Nearly exactly two years ago, in September 2019, the headquarters of DEMACLENKO were relocated from Chiusa to Vipiteno. Since then, in addition to ropeways and snow groomers, the production of snowmaking systems has been taking place immediately next to the HTI sister companies, LEITNER and PRINOTH, at a single joint location. “This way, we can further consolidate our pioneering role as the world's only complete provider of winter sports technologies at a single location and bundle the skills of the Group of companies, such as innovative spirit, in order to meet the demands even faster and better”, emphasises Anton Seeber, HTI Chairman.

The Open Day on 17 September 2021 was the perfect occasion for officially celebrating this milestone belatedly and giving the public a glimpse behind the factory façades at the same time. In strict compliance with the applicable safety and hygiene measures, numerous delegations from national and international ski resorts as well as representatives from the winter sports industry attended. That is why the event was also the perfect platform for a professional exchange between experts and making new contacts. “We are very pleased about the great interest of the customers and the international response. That gives us confidence in our strategy of continuing to grow as a company. With our product range of unique snow guns and the integration of WLP into DEMACLENKO, the ideal conditions were established for this”, says Martin Leitner, Chairman of DEMACLENKO and HTI Board Member.

The Open Day also offered the visitors the opportunity to get a close look at the various areas of expertise of DEMACLENKO and the operating procedures relating to the planning and design of turnkey snowmaking systems. For this, information points were set up in the entire production plant, where the various departments, such as Project Management, the Quality Centre, the Automation and Development departments, the services etc. were presented interactively. Visitors were also given the opportunity to look over the shoulder of the skilled workers building snow guns, welding high-performance pipes for pump stations and testing the machinery. “We not only intended to present our new plant, but also our company as a whole. The faces behind the DEMACLENKO brand are also an important part of this. The Open Day was the perfect opportunity to give insights into our procedures and exchange information with our team”, emphasises Andreas Lambacher, CEO of DEMACLENKO.

With WLP Systems, which has been part of DEMACLENKO since 2020, the youngest member of the HTI family also presented itself to the public at the Open Day. Specialising in water vapour technology for disinfection, combating dust and odours and fire-fighting, which are based on a similar principle to technical snowmaking, WLP systems is supplementing the Group's portfolio with further innovative and forward-looking products.

In the outdoor area, the Snow4Ever200, the latest snow gun by DEMACLENKO was awaiting the visitors with a surprise: real snow was produced at above-zero temperatures. This technology is a real revolution: at present, there is no comparable product that can produce snow at temperatures above freezing point with the same quality, efficiency and production quantity.
