Get in touch with… Christa Pitzal and Philipp Oberhuber

"Hello! Could you introduce yourselves and tell us what you do at Demaclenko?"

Christa: “Hi, I’m Christa Pitzal and I'm in charge of bookkeeping and general administration at Demaclenko Austria. I'm also the person in the Austrian office who answers the phone and makes appointments. I help my colleagues to look after visitors, distribute the post, do all the admin...and much more besides."

Philipp: “I've been with Demaclenko since July 2015 ! I'm currently working as project leader, but I'm being given other jobs like coordinating the new SAP system and developing the production and distribution processes."

"When you decided to work at Demaclenko, did you have a particular reason?"

Philipp: “I worked abroad for 9 years, most recently as managing director of a small engineering company in Belgium. It was a very intense and interesting time for me, but I wanted to come back to Südtirol and at the same time find a company that works internationally. I found all this in the HTI Group and Demaclenko.

"You've been with us a while, when you came to work at Demaclenko was there a particular reason?"

Christa: “Hey, it's not that long really (laughs)...I think you've been here longer, Mirjam! Why did I choose Demaclenko? Well, I worked in the food sector for 20 years, I was looking for a new kind of work, a new sector, to learn new things.

"What was your working day like before you came to Demaclenko?"

Philipp: “My working day was pretty busy, I'd say...a new challenge every day, new solutions to find. Specifically, our work involved developing new products, and that part of the job was really interesting."

"What's it like working in a heavily male environment like ours? Do you feel accepted by the guys?"

Christa: “I love working as a team with the guys! We collaborate all the time, we look for solutions together, but we all bring our own ideas; it's a system that works really well."

"And how do you find the artificial snow sector? Do you feel you fit in well with your new team?"

Philipp: “I really like the products in this sector, I find them fascinating, and also this link with my region, Südtirol. I do a lot of skiing and I keep myself updated about winter sports technology, so I'm already familiar with snow guns and so on. My colleagues are great, I was immediately struck by the passion they put into their work every day, especially in the ski season."

"What do you like best about our firm?"

Philipp: “The start-up culture is a very positive thing here at Demaclenko. We find solutions fast, with little bureaucracy. And there’s a surprising amount of creativity behind the solutions we come up with.

Christa: “Working at Demaclenko is exciting, it’s an international atmosphere with great potential for growth. The group’s working conditions are also very positive for the staff.

"How do you spend your free time? Where do you go when you’re not working here?"

Christa: “I spend nearly all my precious free time with my ten-year-old twins, who still need plenty of looking after. When the weather allows and I have time, we’re outdoors. If I have time for myself I like reading and walking in nature with my husband.

Philipp: “I’m a keen musician, I play guitar in a band called 4Twenty. Music is even more important than sport for me, and it takes up a lot of my free time. I give the best of myself when I’m onstage…umm…and if you want to see me play, we’re at Max in Bressanone on 23rd December and in Piazza Duomo, also in Bressanone, on New Year’s Eve.
