Demaclenko at Harbin Ice & Snow Festival in China

At this time of year, our snow guns are not only focused on ensuring optimum snow conditions on the ski slopes – they are busy causing a sensation at other events as well.

One of the events we will be supporting this year is the Harbin Ice & Snow Festival, which is among the most well-known events for snow sculptures and ice landscapes in China.

The Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is an annual winter festival that takes place with a theme in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China, and now is the largest ice and snow festival in the world. The Festival, established in 1985, is held annually from around January 5 and lasts for over one month.

Although Harbin is famous for its snowy winters thanks to its close proximity to Siberia, Old Man Winter requires dedicated support from our heroes in blue in order to generate the 150,000 m³ of snow that is used during the event. More than 15 snow guns will therefore be deployed to provide the perfect snow required for creating these beautiful works of art.

The venue Harbin is the capital city of Heilongjiang Province and this is China's original and greatest ice artwork festival, attracting hundreds of thousands of local people and visitors from all over the world.
